Paul commissioned this engagement ring for Sam. It needed to be delicate, lightweight and easy to wear. Sam wanted something that reminded her of constellations in the night sky. We also recycled the gold from her mother’s wedding ring which she no longer wore. Even though her mother was now divorced we agreed that the alchemical process of melting down the gold was enough to burn off and transform any negative attachments!
The Renaissance Princess wedding ring is inspired by the glorious colour combinations of gemstones and embellished rings of that era. It’s also a nod to the way that colours are combined in Indian jewellery. It incorporates multi-coloured sapphires with rubies into a design that is hand-carved and then cast in 18ct gold. Its shape echoes the form of the sacred heart.
Aaron wanted to create an engagement ring for Amy that incorporated the Ouroborus symbol as well as gemstones from her grandmother’s rings. This gorgeous and very unusual engagement ring was a delight to work on. 18ct white gold, it has ruby eyes, a diamond studded head and is wreathed either side with 17 diamond set roses.
