This eclipse season is asking you to hone in on where you belong.
The solar eclipse of the 3rd July (AEST) brings us officially into the 2019 ‘Eclipse Season’ (a biannual event – but these aren’t always a total eclipse like this one). Not visible to us in Australia, nonetheless still as potent.
This eclipse occured at 11 degrees Cancer, the Moon’s home sign which concerns matters of home and belonging.
If this eclipse affected any planets in your personal sky map you’ll have already been alerted by some bumpy events in previous month… emotional intensity, feeling unsettled or under threat, even hopeless, as your self-faith and self-love come under some extreme pressure.
When the moon eclipses the sun (getting in between us and the solar light) it symbolises, and instigates, the dominance of emotion, instinct and more mysterious inexplicable and unseen things over rationality, reason and the visible. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, much as we’ve become quite fearful of this kind of stuff in the modern world. There’s much talk about being ‘light workers’ in these days of aspirational spirituality. We have forgotten that we need to be ‘dark workers’ too!
It’s a call to remember that love does not need reason – or even light – to be present in our lives. Use this time til the lunar eclipse at the next full moon to reconnect with what nurtures and sustains your sense of belonging. To recall your place in the world. And the comforts of darkness.
